Every factual claim on this website that can be checked against a public register is listed below, with the register it came from. The registers are free and take under a minute.

Donations to MICYA are not tax deductible.

MICYA is a registered charity, and it is endorsed for two tax concessions: GST Concession and Income Tax Exemption. Those concern how the organisation itself is taxed.

They are not the same as Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) endorsement, which is what allows a donor to claim a gift on their own tax return. MICYA does not hold DGR endorsement. The Australian Business Register records it plainly: “Not entitled to receive tax deductible gifts.”

What we cannot show you yet

Registered charities lodge annual financial reports, a governing-body list and audited accounts with the ACNC, and the ACNC publishes them. Those are the organisation’s filings, not ours to summarise here.

No financial figures are reproduced on this page. The ACNC register is the authoritative source for them, so this site links to it rather than repeating the numbers here.
